Welcome to the Brierley Hillness Project Archive and Community Engagement Toolkit

Can new buildings, places and spaces be built without taking into account a town’s character or sense of identity?

Is there such a thing as ‘Brierley Hillness’ and how can local people articulate this to help developers of the future understand what is unique and special about their town?

What is the project all about?

Brierley Hillness was a community arts and heritage project which gave the people of Brierley Hill and surrounding areas the opportunity to contribute their thoughts, ideas and creativity about what makes Brierley Hill distinctive.

This site is an archive of community voices, actively contributed by over 360 people during the project. We hope it provides evidence to inspire and influence the regeneration process, cultural learning and future arts and heritage projects in the town.

Some of your questions answered…

What are the aims and concept of the project?

Who is this site for?

What will I get from this site?

Who took part in the project?

Who is behind the project?
